PROGRAMME FOR CHILDREN "The Castle Game"

Would you like to walk through Prague Castle as a helper of an artist, a craftsman, a guard, a servant, a chronicler, a counsellor or a priest? To become, for a moment, a historical figure, to experience all the exciting adventures of his or her life, to face all sorts of challenges and govern the castle like the most powerful rulers did in the ancient past? The Story of Prague Castle gives children a chance to do just that.

        

The special guided walk for children is one of the basic programmes accompanying the exhibition. Children will become direct participants in the Story by fulfilling special tasks and missions, which will necessitate a walk through the castle. The programme has eight variations - four for the first and four for the second level of primary school.

Children first visit the 'Initiation Chamber,' where they watch a film that motivates them and opens a door for them to the preparatory programme. By lot, they are assigned to a character and become his helper. They proceed to gather the items they will need and their attributes, and then enter the Story proper. In addition to encountering a wide variety of attractions and interesting things, the children will have to actively put together the story of their character, whose signs they will track throughout the exhibition. After the children have completed the tasks, they get a bonus: a sticker for the "coat of arms" they receive with the entry ticket. However, they receive the biggest award after visiting the exhibition a second time, and thus going through at least half of the routes intended for the given age group.

The Castle Game - Timeminator - CD-ROM -  During the course of eleven centuries, you will meet more then sixty characters, including the kings, presidents, artists and scholars of history; but you will encounter some of the more ordinary residents of the castle, too.
